Volunteering for Shady Side Academy is a rewarding way to remain connected to the Academy and support our mission. Our program is greatly enhanced through the time and talent of dedicated volunteers. For information on any of the volunteer opportunities below, please contact Alicia Barnes, director of annual giving, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 412-968-3017.
Class Agent Program
The class agent program stands at the center of Shady Side Academy’s alumni outreach efforts. Class agents play a strategic role in helping alumni understand that through their annual gifts they are making an investment in current students and giving back to the institution that helped to shape their lives.
Parent Volunteer Program
As a Blue & Gold Fund parent volunteer you'll partner with the development office to ask fellow parents to join you in supporting SSA. Parent volunteers serve as grade or division chairs, attend quarterly support drives, and share fundraising updates with parents in your child's class.
Blue & Gold Support Drive
Volunteers are vital to the success of the Blue & Gold Fund. Whether you live nearby or far away, have a few hours or a few minutes to give, we welcome your help. It is a wonderful way to connect with others in the SSA community through emails, phone calls, texts or letters.
The Alumni & Development Office works with each reunion class to assemble a committee to serve as voices for their peers throughout the year of the reunion. Committee members are involved in the initial brainstorming phase, building enthusiasm for attending the reunion, planning a variety of activities and leading the class giving effort. The committee communicates with each other and the Alumni & Development Office via email, conference call and in-person (when possible) throughout the reunion process starting as early as the winter before the reunion.
