Give the gift of your time to Shady Side Academy by volunteering at school events!

PA law requires parents to complete the following forms prior to volunteering at school functions. There are two types of volunteers:

1. Limited contact volunteer (parents helping at events with faculty present)
2. Substantial contact volunteer (parents alone with students with NO faculty present)

Please complete the appropriate form prior to volunteering and submit to:

• Senior School: Erica Strafalace, Dean's Office

If you're having trouble logging into the Veracross Parent Portal or Canvas Teacher Pages, email the Technology Helpdesk. 

Log in to the Veracross Parent Portal to securely access password-protected information such as the S-Book school directory, your child's schedules and report cards, your VC Pay student billing account, Magnus Health medical forms, your household profile update form, school handbooks, and more. 

Canvas is SSA's learning management system (LMS) where you can find the teacher pages for your child's classes. Log into Canvas here using your Veracross login credentials. You can also access Canvas from Veracross Parent Portal home page via the blue button.

You can access the S-Book, SSA's secure family directory, through the Veracross Portal or the Shady Side mobile app. 

Veracross Portals
Log in to Veracross and click the blue S-Book Directory button. You'll see three tabs for Student, Household and Faculty & Staff directories, all of which can be searched by name. On each tab under General Directories, you'll find Academy-wide directories, while under Browse Categories you'll find directories by campus or grade. The Households tab features a "Nearby Student Households" link which shows you SSA households within 10 miles of your home – great for planning carpools!  To download a PDF of any directory, simply choose the directory you want (e.g. All Students, Junior School, Eighth Grade, etc.), and click "Download Directory (PDF)" at the top right of the page.

Shady Side Mobile App
Download the Shady Side mobile app for iOS or Android and log in to the app using your Veracross username and password. Tap the Directory icon in the footer to access searchable Faculty & Staff, Student and Parent directories. (Note: On the app, directories cannot be filtered by campus, school or grade.)
