How do I get email from home?
You can check your email from any computer with web access by using the address mail.shadysideacademy.org and typing in your SSA email address and your network password.

How do I get to my network files from home?
Faculty and staff may use OneDrive, a part of Office365, to upload and access files remotely.
- Log in to mail.shadysideacademy.org using your network username and password
- Click on the blocks on the upper left
- Select the OneDrive icon
How do I use the Shady Side Academy Wireless?
SSAPublic is a configured network that is intended for a non-SSA computer to connect to the internet.
- Scan for available wireless networks
- Select SSAPublic
- Password: ssapublic
How do I get my Shady Side Academy Office365 email synced to my phone and/or mobile device?
iPhone / iPad
- Click Settings
- Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
- Choose Add Account
- Select Microsoft Exchange
- Type in your email address: username@shadysideacademy.org
- Type in your password: the new one you were sent
- Give this account a description: "Office365 SSA Email" ... or whatever you like
- Choose NEXT
- Your phone will try to find the settings it needs from the server. If it does not, you'll need to provide:
- Server: outlook.office365.com
- Username: your full email address
- Choose the types of information you want to sync between the Office365 cloud and your iOS device (probably mail, contacts, calendars)
- Choose SAVE
- If you're required to setup a passcode on your device, do so
Android
- Click Settings
- Choose Accounts
- Choose Add Account
- Select Microsoft Exchange Active Sync Account
- Type in your email address: username@shadysideacademy.org
- Type in your password: the new one you were sent
- Your phone should setup the rest of the configuration automatically, but if it doesn't, you'll need to provide:
- Server: outlook.office365.com
- Username: your full email address
- Select "Send Email from this Account by Default (if that's an option you would like enabled)
- Click NEXT
- Accept the "Remote Security Administration" warning: Click OK
- If your phone requests any additional SSL Certificates or Permissions to access, choose OK or ACCEPT
- Make your selections for how your mail and calendar behave on your phone
- Click DONE
Can I use cloud services at Shady Side Academy?

Free Microsoft Office Suite
Because of our academic licensing agreement with Microsoft, Shady Side Academy is able to provide the full Microsoft Office suite to faculty/staff and students free of charge. (Note: Students in grades PK-4 do not have active SSA email addresses and cannot participate.) Office 365 includes the latest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive and more.
This licensing program allows each SSA student and faculty/staff member to:
- Install on up to 5 compatible PCs and Macs, plus five tablets (including iPad!).
- Use Office tools with OneDrive for automatic device syncing.
- Gain valuable skills on the world’s most popular productivity software.
- This FREE Microsoft Office license lasts for as long as your child is a student at SSA!
Follow these simple steps to get Microsoft Office:
Software for PC and Mac
- Uninstall any previous version of Microsoft Office that may be installed on the computer.
- Visit https://portal.microsoftonline.com/OLS/MySoftware.aspx
- Log in with your SSA email address and password.
- Select your language preference.
- Click INSTALL to download a small installer program.
- Run the small installer program and follow the onscreen instructions.
