Save the Date! SSA Ice Skating Party, Dec. 4 The SSA Parents' Association will be hosting an Academy-wide ice skating party on Saturday, Dec. 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Schenley Ice Rink. All students, families, faculty and staff are welcome to attend. You can bring your own skates or rent a free pair. Please stay tuned for additional information and details. Form II Parent Night, Nov. 16 Form II Parent Night will be held virtually on Tuesday, Nov. 16, from 6:15-8 p.m. The event provides eighth grade parents with the opportunity to hear from Senior School administrators, department chairs and students regarding the transition to Form III. The program will include a student panel, department/curricular overviews, Q&A and more! The Zoom link was sent directly to Form II parents via email on Nov. 9. Senior School Reminders Junior Families College Night, Tonight All junior families are encouraged to the attend a virtual College Night on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. The event is hosted by the College Counseling Office and will serve as the official start of the college process. The Zoom link was emailed to parents on Nov. 2.
College Counseling Coffee & Conversation, Nov. 16-17 Parents of freshmen, sophomores and juniors are invited to join the College Counseling Office for a conversation about college counseling timelines, including recent changes to the application process and standardized testing. There will be an in-person event on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 8 a.m., as well as a virtual event on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m.
Term I Exams, Nov. 17-18 Term I exams will be held Nov. 17-18. There is a special schedule for students, which includes required student life programming. See the Nov. 11 email for exam locations and additional details. Contact Claire Logsdon with academic or exam-specific questions.
Virtual Blood Drive, Nov. 7-20 The Senior School Pre-Med Club and Service Learning Club have come together to organize a virtual blood drive, held Nov. 7-20. You can participate by signing up to donate blood at any Vitalant blood donation location.

Support a Child in Need This Holiday Season The Service Learning Club invites Senior School families to support a child in need through the Holiday Project, sponsored by the Allegheny County Department of Health and Human Services. Sign up to sponsor a child, and within 48 hours, you will receive an email with the name, age, clothing size, and wish list for your assigned child. Unwrapped gifts should be dropped off at the Senior School library by Dec. 2.
Holiday Choir & Strings Concert, Dec. 8 The Concert Choir, Chamber Choir and String Orchestra will perform at the annual Winter Concert on Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m., in Memorial Hall. All are welcome to attend.
Parent Book Club, Dec. 9 The next parent book club meeting is Thursday, Dec. 9, at noon. Senior School Librarian Lindsey Myers will be the guest host, and has selected Anxious People by Fredrik Backman. See the Oct. 26 email for the Zoom link.
Jazz Combo Performing in Market Square, Dec. 12 The Jazz Combo will perform at the 2021 People's Gas Holiday Market in Market Square on Dec. 12 from 2:30-3 p.m. The combo includes Andy Marous, Karen Linares Mendoza, Angela Xue, Sloane Simons, Ben Thomas and Caden Green.

Yearbook Senior Quotes Due Feb. 1 Parents are invited to review quotes with their seniors. Quotes are a unique opportunity for seniors to thank those who impacted their lives, share insights/memories and leave a legacy. Quotes should be less than 200 words, written in full sentences with no abbreviations and with proper punctuation. No references to drugs, alcohol, cheating, threats or inappropriate behavior.
