Recaps & Good News Sept. 23, 2021
Dear Shady Side Families,
Are you ready for some football, Bulldog fans?
Tomorrow evening, the SSA Parents' Association is hosting an Academy-Wide Family Tailgate Party at the Senior School from 5-7 p.m. before Shady Side's home football game against Sto-Rox. Whether you are a football fan or not, this event promises to reignite our school spirit and reconnect us with friends after more than a year without large community events.
The best news? All weather reports currently indicate we will have clear skies overtop the Friday night lights!
The tailgate will take place in the Hillman Center parking lot and all Shady Side families are invited. Two of Pittsburgh's best food trucks — Cool Beans Tacos and Graeter's Ice Cream — will be on hand with good food available for purchase. Attendees are also welcome to bring food and drink from home. Please note that alcoholic beverages and charcoal grills are prohibited.
There will be games including Giant Jenga and Connect Four, Spike Ball, cornhole, and frisbee. And like with any good tailgate, there is also sure to be some touch football breaking out. We will have music pumping over the campus speakers, and the SSA Spirit Store will be ready at their pop-up tent to meet all your Shady Side "merch" needs. Finally, our Bulldog cheerleading team, boasting new uniforms and the largest squad in years, will be there to pump up the crowd for the game!
There is no need to RSVP. Just show up ready to have a fun evening and join your SSA friends in cheering on the Bulldogs!
Glory to Shady Side!
Sincerely,
Bart Griffith '93
