March 13, 2020
Dear Junior School Families,
Out of an abundance of caution, we are dismissing all Junior School students early and canceling After-School Explorers today, Friday, March 13.
This morning, we were made aware of a Junior School parent who is proactively self-quarantining out of concern for potential coronavirus (COVID-19) exposure after returning from international travel last night. The family's children have not been in direct physical contact with this parent since their return, nor are the children symptomatic. However the children were sent home from school today as soon as we learned about this situation. We are making the decision to close the Junior School early in a proactive effort to ensure the health and safety of our community.
Junior School parents are asked to pick up their children as soon as possible, and we will use our normal AM carpool line for dismissal. Students who ride buses will be dismissed to their buses at 3:05 if they are not picked up early.
It is important to note that the family does not have children at any other SSA campuses, nor have they visited any other campuses, so the Country Day, Middle and Senior Schools will remain open to finish out the rest of the school day today.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.
