Shady Side Academy Middle School eighth grader Isaiah Beckham interviewed SSA alumnus Dennis Briggs '14 for an article in Pittsburgh Urban Media this fall. Beckham was inspired to reach out to Briggs after hearing him speak at an all-school assembly last April. Beckham asked about Briggs' mentors, his time at Shady Side and his experience as a football player at Shady Side and at the University of Pittsburgh.

Briggs played Division 1 football at Pitt and was a two-time team captain and is now an investment banking analyst at PNC. Beckham now years the same football jersey number (#3) on the SSA Middle School team.
