Jane Sheerer '14 Runs Six Marathons in Six Days to Raise Money for MS
Shady Side Academy alumna Jane Sheerer '14 ran six consecutive marathons in six days in August 2020, raising more than $13,400 for multiple sclerosis (MS) research. Sheerer says she was inspired to run in honor of her sister, alumna Madeline Sheerer '11, who was diagnosed with MS at the age of 24.
Originally, Sheerer was supposed to be part of the annual "MS Run the US" relay, a 19-person relay, where she would run 162 miles across Nebraska in six days. The COVID-19 pandemic canceled that run, so instead she ran as part of MS Run the US' virtual 3,260-mile relay team.
MS Run the US is dedicated to raising awareness and funds to support MS research while also aiding those living with disability due to MS.
