On Monday, Feb. 24, the Shady Side Academy Junior School welcomed SSA alumnus Adam J.B. Lane '89 and David Slavin, the illustrator and author behind Odd Gods, a light-hearted graphic novel series about the Greek gods who didn't quite fit in. They spoke with students in grades 2-4 about their collaboration and students had the opportunity to order a book, courtesy of White Whale Book Store, and have it signed during the visit.

Lane is an award-winning author, illustrator and cartoonist. He attended Harvard University and the California Institute of the Arts, worked for the Walt Disney Company and authored two previous picture books for children, Monsters Party All Night Long and Stop Thief! In his spare time he draws comics for The Boston Globe.
