Journalist Carmen Gentile '92 Featured on TODAY With Megyn Kelly
In 2010, Shady Side Academy alumnus Carmen Gentile '92 was a journalist embedded with U.S. forces in Afghanistan when he was hit in the face by a grenade. He survived, but his face was shattered, his right eye blind.
In his memoir, Blindsided by the Taliban: A Journalist's Story of War, Trauma, Love, and Loss, Gentile chronicles the physical and mental challenges in his recovery.
Gentile returned to Pittsburgh for a book signing on Wednesday, May 9, at White Whale Bookstore in Bloomfield. While in town, he was interviewed on WESA-FM radio. Read or listen to the WESA interview here.
