Middle school at Shady Side is where students step into who they are becoming. It’s a time to try new activities, take on leadership roles, and build confidence. Clubs, teams, and performances create space to take risks and develop resilience. Friendships grow stronger through shared experiences, and each student finds ways to challenge themselves in new settings.

A week of spirit and community.
Spirit Week is a time for bold outfits, friendly rivalries, and the kind of energy that can only come from a campus-wide celebration. With theme days that spark creativity, class competitions that build camaraderie, and a shared sense of pride that grows stronger with each passing day, it’s a week where every Middle School student has a chance to shine. And when it all leads up to the final cheers and celebrations, one thing is clear—SSA spirit is unstoppable.
