Shady Side Academy’s Homecoming & Reunion Weekend Postponed
Over the past few weeks, we have been reassessing our plans for Homecoming & Reunion Weekend 2020 in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. After reflecting on current guidance from public health experts and local authorities, and with concern for the health and safety of our alumni and community members top of mind, we have made the decision to postpone Homecoming & Reunion Weekend 2020 to the fall of 2021. It will be part of our first-ever double reunion year! We are excited to plan a historic celebration in 2021 that will be bigger and better than ever. We have not yet determined a specific date, but we expect to provide more details this spring. Quite a weekend it will be!
We know that many of you, especially our reunion classes, were looking forward to Homecoming this year, and we understand your disappointment upon learning about its postponement. However, as an alumnus I know the experience of being together in person, back on campus, with cherished friends and classmates is something that simply cannot be replicated virtually – and we believe it is worth the wait.
I want to express our appreciation to the many alumni volunteers who have continued to participate in the important planning for these events. We cannot thank them enough for their commitment, hard work, and important insight as we have been forced to revise our plans. Please join me in applauding them for their efforts!
Please contact Manager of Alumni Programming and Special Events Lisa Page at email@example.com with questions.
We look forward to seeing everyone in the fall of 2021! Glory to Shady Side!
