Transportation
We recognize that traveling to Shady Side Academy is a commitment for many families. With four separate campuses, families often wonder how to coordinate transportation for their children. Shady Side students may use their local school district buses, if available, or contracted bus services offered through SSA. Many students carpool to school and, at the Senior School, juniors and seniors may apply for parking permits through the dean's office.
School District Bus Services
Students who live in a school district whose border is within 10 miles of the SSA campus they attend are eligible under Pennsylvania law for bus transportation at no cost. School districts must provide private school students with the same transportation services they provide their own public school students. The school districts determine bus stop locations and bus schedules. Please note: PA school districts do not provide bus transportation for PK students.

- Sewickley: AM and PM service to Country Day, Middle and Senior Schools; 6 p.m. Senior School service
- South Hills: AM and PM service to Country Day, Middle and Senior Schools; 6 p.m. Senior School service
