Upper School Campus Updates Enhance Safety, Navigation, and Athletics

Shady Side Academy students returned to an Upper School Campus this fall featuring several updates designed to enhance the experience for students, families, and visitors.

A new traffic and pedestrian wayfinding system was installed across the campus in August, creating clearer and safer routes between academic buildings, gathering spaces, and athletic facilities. New signage throughout campus also makes it easier for students and visitors to navigate the grounds as the Upper School Campus continues to evolve as a connected home for students in grades 6–12.

Additional improvements are currently underway at the Alumni pool and surrounding athletic facilities. The natatorium is receiving a refreshed pool liner, starting blocks, pool deck flooring, wall coverings, spectator seating, scoreboard, lane markers, and signage. The shared entrance to the Alumni Pool and Mellon Gym is also being updated with new finishes and signage, along with refreshed trophy displays and a digital interactive display celebrating Shady Side athletic records and championships.

The athletic facility improvements are expected to be completed in October.
