Teaching Through Practice

When Little Women opened at City Theatre, Junior School Theatre Arts Teacher Nancy McGeever stepped into the production as Marmee and Aunt March, bringing her professional practice to the stage as well as the classroom. Over the weekend, a large group of Junior School faculty attended one of her performances, showing up in a visible, heartfelt way to support a colleague and celebrate the work she continues to do beyond SSA.

Soon after, students in grades 3–5 visited City Theatre for the same production. Seeing their teacher perform in a professional setting helped students connect classroom learning to live theater and offered a clearer view of how a show comes together through rehearsal, collaboration, and performance.
