Passion Projects
Creativity Takes Center Stage at Passion Projects Showcases

Over the course of the spring, fourth and fifth grade students at Country Day School and the Junior School shared their creativity, curiosity, and hard work during the annual Passion Projects showcases. Families, classmates, and faculty gathered to celebrate an impressive collection of student-led research and presentations inspired by each learner’s individual interests.

The Passion Projects program encourages students to take ownership of their learning by exploring topics that spark their imagination. Over a months-long span, students conducted research, created visual displays and models, and developed presentations that reflected both academic growth and personal passion. This year’s projects covered a wide range of subjects, including:

  • How to Make Play Mini-Golf
  • All About Watercolors
  • The History of Virtual Reality
  • How to Catch and Cook a Trout
  • The History of Ketchup
  • All About Syrian Hamsters

From engineering and science to history and the arts, students demonstrated thoughtful inquiry, creativity, and strong communication skills. The showcase highlighted not only what students learned, but also how they learned — through exploration, problem-solving, and independent thinking.
