Senior School Science Olympiad Team Competes at Carnegie Mellon Invitational

The Senior School Science Olympiad Team competed in Division C (grades 9-12) of the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 21, and the following students earned top finishes in their events:

  • Elaine Gombos, Ethan Hou and Monica Singh: 3rd place for Experimental Design
  • Ethan Hou and Smrithi Shyam: 5th place for Green Generation
  • Elaine Gombos and Steven Hou: 6th place for Flight
  • Elaine Gombos and Sambodh Sinha: 6th place for Remote Sensing 

Science Olympiad is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education, increasing male, female and minority interest in science, creating a technologically-literate workforce and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by both students and teachers.
