Senior School Musicians Advance to PMEA Western Region Orchestra
On Jan. 20-21, three Shady Side Academy Senior School student musicians – senior clarinetist Grant Cummings, sophomore cellist Chance Handel and senior violist Hannah Song – participated in the PMEA District 1 Orchestra. More than 140 musicians from high schools across Western PA rehearsed all day Friday and Saturday and performed a wonderful concert Saturday evening at Heinz Hall in downtown Pittsburgh. Cummings and Song qualified to move on to the PMEA Western Region Orchestra, which will take place in State College in March. Congratulations!
