We are excited to welcome our new faculty member to our Junior School Community this school year! 

Erin MacDonald, Learning Specialist Grades 2-3: Erin is excited to join the SSA community and eager to begin working with the Junior School faculty, staff, and students. Since 2015, she worked in Pittsburgh Public Schools as a Special Education Teacher and Case Manager. Leading an active lifestyle, Erin has enjoyed working as a Fitness Coach (weightlifting, HIIT style) at Pittsburgh Fit since 2022, utilizing her CrossFit Level 1 certificate. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Developmental Psychology and master’s degree in Instruction & Learning at the University of Pittsburgh. Erin also holds her Instructional Level 2 certification in Grades PreK-4 and Special Education PreK-8. Erin is originally from the Philadelphia area and has enjoyed learning all about Pittsburgh from her spouse, Matt. They met at the University of Pittsburgh and enjoy spending time with their two dogs, Essi and Kini!
