In a theatrical treat that promises to enthrall, Shady Side Academy's Senior School stages Shakespeare's timeless classic "Macbeth." This gripping production, clocking in at a concise 90 minutes, has been expertly curated by the renowned Globe Theatre and its resident company.

Set against the backdrop of a desolate battlefield, the tale unfurls with senior Jay Zhu donning the titular role of Macbeth. His encounter with three enigmatic witches, portrayed by the talents of Orion Kolek, Zoey Freyberg, and Anna Litster, sets him on a tumultuous path of prophecy, ambition, and unbridled power. SSA senior Madeira Semins joins Zhu as the formidable Lady Macbeth, together they navigate the treacherous landscape of royal ascension and moral decay.

SSA’s rendition of the Bard's dark and powerful play promises to deliver an absorbing experience, as audiences witness Macbeth's harrowing journey from loyal warrior to a king consumed by his quest for power and its ultimate consequences.

Performances are slated for Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from November 3rd to the 12th, with the curtain rising at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and a matinee at 2 p.m. on Sundays.
