Shady Side Academy once again demonstrated its commitment to community and connection with its annual Grandparents and Special Friends Days, held across all four campuses from October 24–27.
On Tuesday, October 24, the doors of the Country Day School swung open. Grandparents and special friends stepped into classrooms, joining students from pre-k to grade 5 in an intergenerational exchange, reinforcing that learning is a lifelong endeavor.
The following day, the Junior School hosted grandparents and special friends. Classrooms were abuzz as special guests journeyed through the day's learning adventures with students.
As the week progressed, the Middle School welcomed grandparents and special friends on Thursday, October 26. The Middle School campus transformed into a convening space where teachers, students, and their special guests engaged in meaningful dialogues.
To end the week, on Friday, October 27, the Senior School hosted grandparents and special friends. Here, visitors enjoyed choral and band performances by students before heading off to enjoy a few classes.
Grandparents and Special Friends Day allows SSA’s extended family to witness first-hand the rich, educational tapestry that encourages Shady Side students to become the architects of their own adventures.
