Five Lacrosse Standouts Commit to Prestigious College Programs

In a remarkable display of talent and commitment, five exceptional lacrosse players from the Senior School have declared their college admission process commitments, marking the continuation of promising athletic careers. With a bright future ahead, these young athletes will make their mark on the collegiate lacrosse scene.

Matthew (Mac) M., a standout player from the class of 2024, has committed to the admission process at Harvard University. Mac's commitment to the Harvard Crimson's Division I program in the Ivy League is a testament to his dedication and skill.

Senior David (Jamie) R. has committed to the admission process at Clarkson University. The Golden Knights are a Division III team in the Liberty League.

The class of 2025 features three more remarkable commitments.

James R. has committed to the admission process to join the prestigious Johns Hopkins Blue Jays in the Division I Big Ten program, a testament to his exceptional talent and potential on the field.

Another class of 2025 standout, Seamus R., has committed to the admission process at Cornell University, a Division I Ivy League institution. He is looking to continue his lacrosse career playing with the Big Red.

Last but not least, Ben M. from the class of 2025 has committed to the admission process at Brown University. This Ivy League institution's Division I lacrosse program provides the perfect platform for Ben to showcase his skills with the Brown Bears.

Head Boys Varsity Lacrosse Coach Cam Thompson shared, “We are so proud of these five young men, who have worked tirelessly to reach their goal of playing NCAA college lacrosse. Their focus in the classroom, in our community, and on the field has provided them with an incredible opportunity to continue to play lacrosse at some of the top programs in the country. The challenging curriculum and lacrosse schedule here at Shady Side Academy has prepared all five of them to continue to lead and perform at the next level."
 
These five talented athletes are sure to bring their prowess and dedication to the college lacrosse landscape, and their commitment to higher education is equally commendable. Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach Josh Frechette adds, “I am incredibly proud of these young men and their dedication to achieving these accomplishments. It is a testament to their desire to improve, attention to detail, and support from their families, teachers, and teammates. As coaches, we are excited for the time we have left together and for what’s to come for each of them as they pursue their dream of playing college lacrosse.”
