Tune in to KDKA-TV this Saturday, June 30, at 11 a.m. to see Shady Side Academy compete in the semifinals of the Hometown High-Q quiz show competition! The show will be re-aired next Saturday, July 7, at 11:30 a.m.
Hosted by KDKA's Rick Dayton, Hometown High-Q features three teams of three students each from area high schools, competing for academic grants and recognition. SSA has already earned at least a $1,500 grant from Williams, the show's sponsor, for making it to the semifinals!
This week, SSA faces off against Central Catholic and Penn Trafford, with the winner advancing to the championship! Competing for team SSA are Quiz Bowl team members and seniors Justin Yuan, Will Davis and Fuad Youssef. The Quiz Bowl team is coached by Senior School faculty member Heather Fani.
