Two SSA Students Named 2020 Carson Scholars

Shady Side Academy junior Qingqing Zhao was named 2020 Carson Scholar, and eighth grader Benjamin Bischoff was named a 2020 Recognized Carson Scholar by the Carson Scholars Fund.

Zhao will receive a $1,000 scholarship award that will be invested for her college education, as well as a medal and certificate. Bischoff was previously honored with a scholarship award and is now receiving recognition to acknowledge his continued academic and humanitarian achievements.

Bischoff and Zhao are among more and 8,600 gifted students from across the country who have been named Carson Scholars. Their academic achievements and service to their communities are what makes them stand out as future leaders.

Both students will be honored in front of family, peers and educators at the Carson Scholars Fund's Annual Pittsburgh Awards Banquet on Sunday, April 5, at Heinz Field. This event will honor scholars from across the Western Pennsylvania and Ohio regions.

Congratulations, Benjamin and Qingqing!
