Three Students Receive FAME Scholastic Excellence Awards

On Sunday, Feb. 12, the Fund for Advancement of Minorities through Education (FAME) and the Baptist Temple Church of Homewood honored FAME scholars, parents and partners for their achievements in their communities.

Three Shady Side Academy students were recognized with the FAME Scholastic Excellence Award, given to FAME Scholars who earned straight A's in the first term of the school year: sophomore Eliana Gagnon and seniors Angel Andrews and Brian Foster. Also, SSA parents Eric and Erica Roberts received the FAME Parent Award.

FAME, a college preparatory program, offers services to more than 80 African-American students at Ellis, Sewickley Academy, Shady Side Academy, St. Edmund's Academy, Winchester Thurston School, The Kiski School and Western Reserve Academy.

Congratulations to Eliana, Angel, Brian and Mr. and Mrs. Roberts!
