For more than 25 years, the Shady Side Academy Junior School community has participated in the annual Giving Tree Project, which gives families the opportunity to provide holiday gifts for local children in need.

This year's Giving Tree Project supported The Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center, whose purpose is to promote the health and well-being of infants and children through services which establish and strengthen the family.

In past years, families were asked to purchase a new toy, game or coat to donate to the Giving Tree Project. This year, due to COVID-19 precautions, families were asked to purchase items on the foundation's Amazon Wish List to be delivered directly to the Children's Home.
