Shady Side Academy Senior School welcomed Pennsylvania State Rep. Mike Turzai to speak at a community assembly on Friday, May 5, 2017.

Turzai spoke to the students about his background growing up in the Pittsburgh area and his daily duties and responsibilities as speaker of the PA House of Representatives. He concluded by answering questions from students.

Now serving his eighth term, Turzai represents PA's 28th Legislative District, representing communities in the North Hills of Allegheny County.

Turzai's visit was coordinated by sophomore Nick Sawicki and the Senior School Political Science Club.
