Shady Side Academy has received the largest programmatic gift in its history, an anonymous $2 million donation dedicated to academic and social support for talented students of promise whose enrollment at Shady Side presents a uniquely challenging educational or cultural transition.

"The gift will expand student access to individualized learning support, mentorship and guidance, and better ensure all students maximize their potential at SSA, achieving excellence in the classroom and building lasting relationships as members of the school community," said President Bart Griffith '93.

Students from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds will benefit, and the gift will support both students who receive financial aid and those who pay full tuition.

The philanthropic gift also establishes a permanent endowment for Shady Side's Equity and Inclusion Fund, a critical step in the Academy's Equity and Inclusion Action Plan.
