SSA Leader Honored With New Pittsburgh Courier FAB 40 Award
Dr. Armani Davis

Shady Side Academy Chief Talent Recruitment and Development Officer Dr. Armani Davis has been named to the Class of 2022 of the New Pittsburgh Courier's FAB 40 Awards.

The FAB 40 Awards celebrate the vision, leadership, exceptional achievements and community service of local African American young men and women. Recipients join an elite group of young leaders making a positive impact in the greater Pittsburgh area and beyond. The FAB 40 Class of 2022 will be recognized at an awards dinner on Wednesday, June 1, at 6 p.m. at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square.

Davis was also recently chosen as a 2022 recipient of Duquesne University's Dukes From the Last Decade Award, which recognizes young alumni who demonstrate outstanding professional excellence, commitment and service to their communities, and dedication to Duquesne, and who exemplify the mission of the university in their daily lives. He'll be recognized at the Young Alumni Awards Reception on Saturday, June 4, at the Energy Innovation Center.

Davis joined Shady Side's executive leadership team in 2021 as the inaugural chief talent recruitment and development officer, a role dedicated to the recruitment and professional growth of faculty and staff. Prior to SSA, he served as the faculty lead for Coro Pittsburgh's Fellowship in Public Affairs and was a faculty member in Indiana University of Pennsylvania's College of Education and Communications. He previously served in leadership roles at Robert Morris University, Urban Innovation21 and The Pittsburgh Promise. Davis was named to Pittsburgh Magazine's "40 Under 40" list in 2020 and the Pittsburgh Business Times and Leadership Pittsburgh's "30 Under 30" list in 2021.

Congratulations, Dr. Davis!
