SSA Golfer Signs National Letter of Intent

Casey Morrow signs her NLIShady Side Academy senior Casey Morrow officially signed an NCAA National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play golf at Bucknell University on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, on the first day of the NLI regular signing period.

Joining Morrow at the signing ceremony in the SSA Senior School College Counseling Office were Associate Director of College Counseling Tom Colt, Assistant Athletic Director Jonathan Johnson and Head Girls Golf Coach Helene Gosse, along with Morrow's family, classmates and teachers.

Morrow has played the No. 1 position on the SSA varsity girls' golf team for four years, helping the team to a PIAA Class AAA Championship as a senior this past fall. The team also finished second in the WPIAL in 2016 after placing fifth the previous three years. Individually, Morrow finished in the top 15 of the WPIAL Class AAA Girls Golf Individual Championship in each of her four years at SSA. She also has been an active player on the junior golf circuit. Her home club is Shannopin Country Club.

The NCAA's National Letter of Intent (NLI) is a binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an NLI member institution. By signing an NLI, the student-athlete agrees to attend the institution full-time for one academic year, while the institution agrees to provide athletics financial aid for one academic year. Bucknell's women's golf team competes in NCAA Division I in the Patriot League. Morrow plans to major in biology at Bucknell.
