Seventh Grader Raises $1,883 For Homeless Children's Education Fund
Ariya Nahata

Shady Side Academy Middle School seventh grade student Ariya Nahata organized a charity drive for the Homeless Children's Education Fund this spring. She led a presentation on this organization's important work in helping the homeless youth in Allegheny County during an all-school assembly, then organized a "penny war" style fundraiser among the advisories, with the winning advisories earning the opportunity to pie their teachers and students in the face!

Nahata raised a total of $1,883 for the Homeless Children's Education Fund, an especially auspicious number since it is the year of Shady Side's founding.

Congratulations on your successful fundraiser, Ariya!
