Senior School Science Olympiad Team Places 12th at Penn Invitational

On Saturday, Feb. 22, the Senior School Science Olympiad team competed at the Penn Invitational, held at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, finishing 12th out of 54 teams in Division C (grades 9-12). The following students earned top six finishes in their events:

  • Jason Wu and Ishika Arora: 4th for Astronomy
  • Andrew Liu and Parker Maivald: 5th for Forensics
  • Jack Hathaway and Prayag Vemulapalli: 3rd for Ping Pong Parachute

Science Olympiad is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education, increasing male, female and minority interest in science, creating a technologically-literate workforce and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by both students and teachers.

Congratulations to the team and to coaches Dr. Joe Martens, Dr.Kelly VandenBosche and Russell Grant! Good luck at the regional tournament at California University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday, March 4!
