Senior School Physics Project Combines Science and Art
Senior School teachers Dr. Scott Peterson (science) and Scott Aiken (visual arts) recently combined efforts to provide Dr. Peterson's physics students with a unique learning opportunity.
After creating detailed designs via a CAD program, the students used a 3D printer to construct unique projects out of resin. Next, the students worked with Mr. Aiken in the BVAC metal studio to make a plaster cast of their molds. Once dry, the molds were placed in a kiln to melt out the resin. Finally, after the students poured molten pewter into the molds, they broke up the plaster to unveil their impressive projects!
