Four members of the Shady Side Academy boys' golf team competed in the WPIAL Class AAA Boys Golf Individual Championship at South Hills Country Club on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Senior Adam Lauer shot a 1-under-par 70 to finish in second place, just one stroke shy of the winner. As one of the top 10 finishers, Lauer will advance to the PIAA Class AAA Boys Golf Individual Championship, held Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Heritage Hills Golf Course in York, Pa. (The PIAA Western Regional Qualifier was cancelled this year, so the top 10 golfers from WPIALs advance straight to PIAAs.)

Senior Charles Troutman shot a 77 to finish in a tie for 11th place, and won a playoff to be the first alternate at the state finals if any of the top 10 are unable to compete.

Junior Wes Warden shot a 78 to finish tied for 13th place.

Senior Garrett Fuhrer shot an 83 to tie for 17th.

Congratulations to all four players and good luck to Adam at the state tournament!
