Due to inclement weather in parts of the state and the PA governor's announcement of a state of emergency that includes travel restrictions, the PIAA Swimming and Diving Championships and the second-round games of the PIAA Basketball Championships have been postponed this week, impacting SSA teams.
The PIAA Class AA Swimming Championships at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., originally scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, will now be held Thursday and Friday, March 16-17. Twelve SSA swimmers will be competing in 15 PIAA events. View the revised PIAA swimming schedule.
All second-round PIAA basketball games scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday have been postponed to Thursday, March 16. SSA will face Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic Thursday at 8 p.m. at Armstrong High School in Kittanning in the Class AAA playoffs. Due to the second-round games being postponed, the PIAA quarterfinal games have been pushed back to Saturday, March 18. View the updated PIAA AAA Boys Basketball bracket.
