On Tuesday, March 9, 13 Shady Side Academy Middle School seventh graders competed in the Carnegie Library's virtual Battle of the Books.

Congratulations to Quinton Kokladas, Maddy Rhoades, Suhani Sehgal, and Quinn Tweardy, whose team tied for second place!

Battle of the Books is a team trivia contest based on books. Teams of four to five teens were required to read 10 books from a list and then answer trivia questions about them. There were three rounds of questions with at least one question per round on each book. Teams had 20 seconds to write down an answer to each question, and each question is worth up to 5 points. Separate "battles" were held for three different age groups, each of which had its own book list: grade 6, grades 7-8 and grades 9-12.
