Twenty-five Shady Side Academy Middle School sixth, seventh and eighth grade students competed in the Mathematical Association of America's (MAA) 36th annual American Mathematics Competition (AMC) 8 in November 2020. The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills.
Eighth grader Shaurya Gulati earned the highest score among SSA students and also placed in the top 5% nationally. Eighth grader Kexin Zhao placed second among SSA students, and eighth grader Kabir Chaudhry placed third.
