Students on the Shady Side Academy Junior School Girls on the Run team recently decorated onesies and greeting cards for The Little Fox Foundation as their Community Impact Project.

The Little Fox Foundation educates families about safe sleep habits, fosters SIDS awareness and donates Owelet Smart Sock monitors to new and expectant families. The onesies and cards will be included in the care packages that the foundation sends. The foundation was created by Junior School teacher Daniel Stern and his wife, Katie, in memory of their son, Toby, who passed away in 2016 from SIDS.

Many of the girls on the team had or currently have Mr. Stern as a teacher, so they decided that they wanted to support his foundation in memory of Toby.

Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Congratulations to the students and Girls on the Run coaches Kristin Litster, Amy Jackson and Rachel Kurtz-Flamenbaum on a meaningful and memorable project!
