Junior School Kindergartners Raise Nearly $3,800 in Bounce for Bundle-Up

KG Bounce for Bundle-upKindergarten students at Shady Side Academy Junior School raised a total of $3,791.57 for Project Bundle-Up by participating in "Bounce for Bundle-Up," an annual class service project.

The kindergartners worked with their third grade buddies to practice dribbling basketballs, which coincided with their P.E. basketball lessons. The students also collected pledges from family and friends to support their efforts. On "bounce day," the third graders counted how many times their kindergarten buddies bounced a basketball and the children were able to bounce more than 12,000 times!

The kindergartners' donations will help children receive new winter outerwear through Project Bundle-Up.

Created in 1986, Project Bundle-Up is a joint community service effort of The Salvation Army and WTAE-TV. This unique program provides new winter coats, hats, scarves, mittens and boots to thousands of underprivileged Western Pennsylvanian children and senior citizens annually. Over the past 30 years, Project Bundle-Up has raised more than $13 million and provided new winter outerwear for more than 267,000 individuals. Learn more.

Congratulations to the students on their efforts!
