Junior Named to PMEA District 1 Honors Orchestra
Hannah Song

Shady Side Academy junior Hannah Song is one of only 12 violists from more than 500 high schools in Western Pennsylvania selected to perform in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 1 Honors Orchestra Festival. The festival will be held at Fox Chapel Area High School and Bethel park High School on Nov. 20-21. Auditions were held on Monday, Sept. 20.

Song is a member of the Senior School String Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Dan Brill, and has received individual instruction from retired Pittsburgh Symphony violist Penny Brill.

PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization of more than 5,000 members, dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians. The organization promotes and supports quality music education, learning and performance as well as promoting and supporting music education in schools and communities.
