A group of Shady Side Academy Junior and Middle School families organized a "No Hungry Kids!" fundraiser to support the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank in December 2020, with the goal of raising $1,000 through a GoFundMe page by Christmas Eve.

The Delfyett, Iannetti, Khalil, Walsh and Zureikat families created a video that was shown during Zoom assemblies at the Junior and Middle Schools and emailed to parents to educate the community about food insecurity and the importance of nutrition. The team of students surpassed its goal, raising a total of $5,301 from 67 generous donors.
