Shady Side Academy senior Aya Youssef and junior Elle Santora defeated Mars' Amelia Haley and Emily Ivory 7-5 and 6-4, on Thursday, Oct. 4, to win the WPIAL Class AAA Girls Tennis Doubles Championship.

In the first round, Santora and Youssef defeated Hannah Yan and Nandini Rastogi of Franklin Regional, 10-0. They went on to defeat Dani Gibbons and Gia Winseck of Upper St. Clair 10-1 in the Quarterfinals, and defeated Camilla Buch and Lauren Masteller of Mt. Lebanon, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3.

SSA seniors Isha Reddy and Paige Golden, were defeated by Bridget Zimmerman and Alexandra Renton of Mt. Lebanon 10-8 in the first round.

Youssef and Santora will advance to the PIAA Class 3A Girls Doubles Tennis Championship. The preliminary round will be held Friday, Nov. 2 at the Hershey Racquet Club.
