GIRLS PREP HOCKEY WINS WIHLMA CHAMPIONSHIP

On Sunday, Feb. 17, the Shady Side Academy girls prep ice hockey team won the 2019 Women's Interscholastic Hockey League of the Mid-Atlantic (WIHLMA) Championship, defeating defending league champions The Hill School, 1-0, at Princeton Day School in Princeton, N.J. The game-winning goal was scored by freshman Jaidan Fahrny, and senior Gwyneth Philips earned the shutout in goal.

This is SSA's fourth WIHLMA championship in the last five years.

On Saturday, Feb. 16, SSA defeated Portledge, 2-0, in the WIHLMA semifinals to advance to the championship game. Goals were scored by Fahrny and sophomore Aubrey Suttelle, and Philips earned the shutout in goal.

Congratulations to Head Coach Kate Binnie and the entire team on an amazing season!
