Country Day School Students Participate in Gingerbread House Competition

CDS Gingerbread HouseThe Shady Side Academy Country Day School kindergarten class taught by Kendal Broderick and Chelsea Bertani participated in the 17th annual City of Pittsburgh Gingerbread House Display and Competition. With the help of Michael Commendatore's fourth graders, the students constructed a gingerbread house they named "Candy Kingdom."

On Friday, Dec. 13, the CDS fourth grade and kindergarten classes traveled downtown and visited the Pittsburgh City-County Building to see their house on display. A delightful presentation of hundreds of delicious gingerbread dwellings created by talented families, organizations, students and chefs around the region fill the City-County Building's Grand Lobby and will remain on display throughout the holiday season.

Be sure to stop by and check out our student's gingerbread handiwork!
