What would you tell an alien about our home planet of Earth? Where would you take your new friend?

Students in Anne Shelby and Sarah Kintner's Country Day School second grade class got a chance to meet a new "alien" friend in the Dash robots. After reading the book If You Come to Earth, a part of their Sophie Blackall author study, students thought about the answer to these questions and worked with a partner to create a proper introduction to Earth. Using their iPads, students coded their alien robots to follow a path in their maiden journey to Earth, stopping along the way to build a home, get dressed, understand the weather, get from one place to another, eat a meal, and do something for fun.

Watching the aliens move through this adventure was the culmination of a well-planned Earth vacation!
