Boys Golf Team Wins IPSL Tournament

On Saturday, Oct. 6, the Shady Side Academy boys varsity golf team competed in the IPSL Tournament at the Fox Chapel Golf Club. The teams competing for the Robert Grandizio Trophy were Western Reserve Academy, Linsly School, The Kiski School, and defending champion Shady Side Academy.

Shady Side won the tournament for the second year in a row, with a score of 138.

One player from each competing school played in each of the five foursomes. Heavy thunderstorms interrupted the tournament, resulting in the Fox Chapel Golf Club deciding to close the course for the day. Coaches from the competing teams agreed to name the team with the lowest score for 8 holes, counting the four lowest scores of the five golfers from each team, as the championship winner.

Shady Side won the tournament for the second year in a row with a score of 138. Kiski shot a 143, WRA shot a 154, and Linsly shot a 162.

Sophomore Charles Troutman was this year's low medalist.

Congratulations!
