The Shady Side Academy boys basketball team has earned a berth in the 2016-2017 WPIAL Class 3-A Boys Basketball Championship and will face Carlynton in the preliminary round on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 2:30 p.m. at Sewickley Academy. SSA finished the regular season at 16-6 overall and won the section 3 title with a 9-1 section record. Carlynton was 11-11 overall and placed fourth in section 1 at 5-5. The SSA boys basketball team is coached by David Vadnais.
Presale tickets for the Carlynton game will be on sale in the Senior School Athletic Department Office all day Thursday, Feb. 16, and until noon on Friday, Feb. 17. Presale tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students; all tickets at the gate are $7. Shady Side Academy will receive a percentage of all tickets sold on campus (but not at the gate).
