This spring, 18 members of the SSA Class of 2021 successfully competed 16 different Senior Projects. On Tuesday, June 1, the students shared their experiences and learning with the junior class through presentations.
The Senior Project offers students the opportunity to pursue a serious learning experience outside the traditional setting of the classroom during the final three weeks of their senior year. The Senior Project covers a wide range of educational activities and is designed by the student. Projects may involve the development of a new skill, the pursuit of an academic research project, mastery of a musical piece, creation of a work of art, or service to the community.
The topics of this year's Senior Projects included converting a school bus into a solar-powered RV, shadowing an orthopedic surgeon, operating a horse farm, designing a fashion brand, elementary student teaching, creating a drug test to treat human liver disease and more.
