On Saturday, Sept. 24, Senior School Service Learning Club members Sara Laman, Jinny Guo, Lucille McCargo, Natalie Caputo, Ainsley Chu and Sunny Zhao and faculty advisor Lindsey Myers volunteered at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank distribution in Wilkinsburg. Juniors Dahlia Braver and Claudia Knopes also happened to be volunteering that day.
Volunteers assisted with loading the trunks of vehicles with loose grocery items, directing traffic and registering vehicles within the distribution line. They also assist community members as they walk through a line of grocery items, assist with set up and tear down of the market-style event, register community members to receive food and distribute the food directly to guests.
