Shady Side Academy senior Maria Schwendeman was one of 30 local teen makers chosen via an application process to participate in the Young Artist Maker Market (YAMM), held at the Mattress Factory Museum on Saturday, May 6.
Hosted by the Mattress Factory’s Teen Art Cooperative, the YAMM event gave talented local teen artists the opportunity to sell their artwork and handmade creations for profit. The market was set up in the museum lobby and garden, and admission was free and open to the public.
Many of the pieces Schwendeman brought to sell were created in her visual art classes at the Senior School, including Advanced Glass with Roy Parlour and Ceramics with Cari Batchelar. She practically sold out of all of her artwork at the event!
Congratulations!
